
School Records Continue to Fall on Day Two of CCSA Championships

ATHENS, Ga. – On day two of the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Swimming Championships, two North Florida swimming records came off the board. It marks the third record in the first two days in competition for the Ospreys.

Senior Janie Kennedy qualified for evening finals with the fifth fastest time in school history (24.00) only to best it in the evening session. She broke Kimberly Kuehl's school mark set back during the 2010-11 season. Kennedy placed 19th overall with a record-breaking time of 23.69.

Kennedy was a part of her third school record of the week later in the day when she anchored the 200 freestyle relay that also established a new school mark. She teamed up with Chase Walker, Amy Creech and Taylor Schmidinger.

Senior Amy Taylor turned in the highest finisher of any Osprey thus far, placing fourth in the 500 freestyle. Her prelim time of 4:52.44 was a career best and the fourth fastest in school history.
Prelims begin day three on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with finals following at 6:00 p.m.
