
Volleyball Continues ASUN Play at Stetson, FGCU

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Currently on a three-match win streak, North Florida volleyball continues its ASUN Conference schedule on the road at Stetson and FGCU on Friday and Saturday, respectively as it looks to keep its winning ways.
QUICK HITSÂ
- North Florida holds a 17-6 record against the Hatters and is 8-2 in DeLand, Fla. The Ospreys split with the Hatters last season, dropping their home match, 3-0 before coming back against the Hatters on their home court. Loeswick is 5-3 against Stetson.
- FGCU has won the last four meetings between the two teams. UNF last beat the Eagles in 2013 in a five-set thriller. FGCU is 5-0 at Alico Arena against the Ospreys.
- Senior Morgan Van Alstine is 12th in the nation with 98 total blocks.Â
- Junior Carinne Turner and freshman Gabby O'Connell lead the team with nine double-doubles each.

North Florida is 5-3 on October 14 and all of its wins have been in straight sets or a 3-1 vicotry. The last time on October 14, the Ospreys faced non-conference opponent Bethune-Cookman in 2014.
OCTOBER 15
The Ospreys have not played on this date since 2013 when it played Bethune-Cookman in a non-conference match up. North Florida is 10-3 on 10/15 and have only surrendered four total sets in the victories.

-The Hatters have beaten just one ASUN team in NJIT on October 1.Â
- Madison Akins leads the team in kills with 202 and is currently 17 away from 1,000 for her career. She ranks 7th in the league in kills per set (2.81).
-Roxy Lake runs the offense with 401 helpers, averaging 5.57 per set to rank 8th in the ASUN.
- A trio of Hatters have helped out on the passing side of things with Marissa Salazar leading with 212 digs, while McKenna Foster (165) and Eva Deisa (142) are next on the team.
- At the net, Shelby Connors ranks third in the ASUN in blocks per set (0.90) and has 61 total stops.

-The Eagles saw their 15-match win streak snapped by Kennesaw State in four on October 7. FGCU then responded by sweeping Lipscomb on its home court.
- Amanda Carroll is first in the league in kills/set (4.48) and has a total 282 for the season.
- FGCU's offense runs through Maggie Rick who leads the ASUN with 746 assists.
- Courtney Stephens is the team's main passer with 280 digs, but three others have more than 100.Â
- The Eagles are out-hitting their opponents .281 to .180 and have let only eight matches go more than three sets where they own a 5-3 mark.
