Vols grab 4-1 victory

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - North Florida men's tennis junior Lasse Muscheites grabbed a victory in the No. 4 singles spot, but it was all the Ospreys could muster as No. 44 Tennessee won 4-1 at the Goodfriend Tennis Center.

In doubles play, the Vols grabbed wins in the No. 2 and 3 spots to secure the point. The No. 4 duo of Jack Findel-Hawkins and Yannick Zuern's match in the No. 1 position went unfinished with the Ospreys leading 5-3 before the doubles point was clinched.

Muscheites played to a 6-4, 6-0 victory in the No. 4 singles spot to ensure that Ospreys got on the board. Findel-Hawkins was winning his second set against No. 75 Igor Smelyanski before the match was called.

The Ospreys now prepare for another tough weekend with UNCW, Alabama and Miami. UNF plays UNCW on Friday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. at the UNF Tennis Courts before finishing the day with doubles matches against Alabama at 4:30 p.m.
