Game Notes (pdf)JACKSONVILLE -- The North Florida basketball team looks to extend its 15-game home win streak Thursday when the Ospreys welcome Atlantic Sun foe Lipscomb to UNF Arena at 7 p.m.. The game is being carried on ESPN3 and 92.5 FM. The Ospreys (13-6, 2-0) remained undefeated at home (8-0) and in conference play after an impressive 83-68 victory over crosstown rival Jacksonville on Saturday night. Senior Demarcus Daniels matched his career best with 22 points while also pulling down 10 rebounds en route to posting the first double-double of this career. His effort helped him garner Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honors. Additionally, junior Chris Davenport also tallied a double-double finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Trent Mackey collected a little bit of history with a three-pointer that pushed his collegiate career point total over 1,000.
Lipscomb enters Thursday's tilt with a 4-14 overall record including six straight losses. The Bisons lost at Kennesaw State, 102-86, in their conference opener. LU is led in scoring by J.C. Hampton with 15.8 points per game while Eli Pepper leads the squad in rebounding at 8.1 per game.
The game features the nation's No. 1 (UNF) and No. 3 (Lipscomb) ranked teams for three-pointers made. The Ospreys have connected on 234 this season while the Bisons have made 190. Both squads average double-figure treys made per game and have attempted more than 500 this year. Following the LU game, North Florida concludes its current three-game home stand Saturday (Jan. 16) against Kennesaw State.
