GREENSBORO, N.C. – A penalty kick goal in the second overtime by Helge Pietschmann lifted the North Florida men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over UNC Greensboro. Helge Pietschmann converted the free kick in the 108^th minute for the Osprey victory.

The Ospreys found themselves down a goal twice in the contest and were ultimately able to prevail thanks to a UNCG foul in the box with just 2:48 remaining in the game. The goal by Pietschmann was his second of the season and the second PK goal of his career.

Trailing 2-1 in the second half, senior Drew Spragg headed home a cross from freshman Ivan Castro in the 60^th minute for the equalizer. Castro, who earlier in the contest scored his first collegiate goal that tied game at one, led the Ospreys with three points on the night.

"I'm extremely proud of our effort tonight and couldn't be happier with the outcome," said Head Coach Derek Marinatos. "To get a win at a tough environment like this against a quality program is huge for our team."

Coming into the contest, the Ospreys have out-shot all but one of their opponents and tonight was no different. The Ospreys held a 20-8 shot advantage in the contest, including 11 shots in the second half.

The Spartans scored the quickest goal of any Osprey opponent in over two years, netting the game's first goal just 2:28 into the match. Leeroy Maguraushe converted a pass from Jordan Poarch to give UNCG the quick lead.

After the goal by Spragg, Maguraushe broke the short-lived tie with his second goal of the contest with a penalty kick goal of his own in the 22^nd minute. The Spartans were awarded the kick as a result of a Osprey hand ball in the box.

Senior Casey Caronis appeared in his 57^th game as an Osprey, the fifth most by any player in the program's D-1 era (2005-present). Goalkeeper Kyle Nasta turned away two shots for his 11^th career victory which breaks the school's D-1 era record for wins.

Of the Ospreys 12 goals this season, nine different players have found the back of the net.

The Ospreys will conclude their three-game road trip on Monday night when they take on No. 3 North Carolina in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels are fresh off a win earlier today over No. 2 Notre Dame and stand at 5-0-1 this season.
