BRASELTON, Ga. -- Already shortened by a day due to rain and wet conditions, the 2015 Atlantic Sun Men's Golf Championship saw play suspended Monday at 1:10 p.m. by a tornado warning with first round play still unfinished.
At just past 3 p.m., the Legend's Course at Chateau Elan was pelted by hail followed by gusty winds and more rain that forced tournament play to be finished for the day. Tournament action will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday with plans calling for the teams to finish the scheduled 54-hole format.
Round one play will be finished followed immediately by second and third round competition. Players will stay in their two-some pairings throughout the duration of play with carts being utlized to help with pace of play.
The No. 26-ranked Ospreys currently sit in fourth place at 10-over par with no more than five holes left to complete in their opening round. Redshirt freshman Dillon Woods leads the way with a 1-over total thru 15 holes. Juniors Taylor Hancock (thru 14) and Austin Padova (thru 13) are close behind at 2-over.
UNF's playing partner No. 24 Kennesaw State leads team standings at 6-over with Lipscomb and USC Upstate tied for second at 8-over.
