Game Notes (pdf)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The No.1-seeded North Florida basketball team opens up play in the 2015 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship tournament against No. 8 seed Stetson on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in UNF Arena. The game marks the first home postseason game in UNF program history.

The Ospreys (20-11, 12-2 ASun) claimed the program's first conference title with an 86-71 victory over the Hatters (9-21, 3-11) on Saturday night in UNF Arena. Tuesday's game is a rematch between the in-state foes and marks the first postseason meeting between the pair. UNF carries a five-game win streak into Tuesday's tilt, while Stetson has won just one of its last seven contests.

In Saturday's game, first-team All-Atlantic Sun guard Dallas Moore scored 21 points to lead a balanced Osprey offense. Fellow first-team All-Atlantic Sun performer Beau Beech added 10 points and seven rebounds, while Chris Davenport narrowly missed a double-double for UNF finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds. Senior Jalen Nesbitt collected 14 points and five assists in his Senior Night game. All-Atlantic Sun second-team selection, Kentwan Smith, finished with 15 points for Stetson with Angel Rivera adding a career high 22 points to lead all scorers.

North Florida is 2-4 all-time in the Atlantic Sun tournament having reached the championship game in 2011. The Ospreys are just 1-4 in opening round games of the postseason event.

The winner of Tuesday's game advances to a semifinal matchup on Thursday night versus the winner between No. 4 Northern Kentucky and No. 5 Lipscomb.
