Game Notes (pdf)Pre-Tournament Press Conference Transcript (pdf)DAYTON, Ohio -- The historic season for the North Florida basketball team is set for its next step as the Ospreys make their NCAA Tournament debut on Wednesday against Robert Morris at 6:40 p.m. at Dayton Arena. The game will be televised by TruTV.
The Ospreys (23-11), who captured both the regular season and tournament championships in the Atlantic Sun, ride an eight-game win streak into their inaugural national postseason appearance against the Colonials (19-14). RMU has won six straight including winning the Northeast Conference tournament title.
Voice of the Ospreys, Richard Miller, will host a one-hour pregame show starting at 5:40 p.m. followed by full play-by-play coverage of the game starting at 6:40 p.m. on 1010 XL (AM) in Jacksonville. In addition, 92.5 FM will carry a simulcast broadcast of the game following the completion of the UNF-Jacksonville baseball game broadcast that starts at 4 p.m.
In their last game, UNF captured their first Atlantic Sun basketball championship behind a career-best 22 point performance from
Demarcus Daniels. Daniels, the ASun Defensive Player of the Year, was named the Tournament MVP and was joined on the all-tournament team by teammates
Jalen Nesbitt (16 pts) and
Dallas Moore (13 pts). Moore, an all-conference selection, scored a career high 36 points in the Ospreys semifinal win over Lipscomb. Junior
Beau Beech was also named the all-conference squad for his play during the regular season.
