STATESBORO, Ga. – Riding high off a three-game sweep at home against Fairfield over the weekend, North Florida baseball (9-8) will hit to the road to face Georgia Southern (11-5) on Wednesday evening. The midweek contest will be the last of two games scheduled against the Eagles this season.

Weekend Recap: The Ospreys handed the first three losses of the season to Fairfield this past weekend in a weekend sweep at Harmon Stadium. The Ospreys outscored the Stags, 24-9 which includes a 11-2 victory on Sunday. After coming from behind in both of the first two games of the series, the Ospreys never trailed on Sunday, scoring in all but two of their eight turns at the plate. After meeting in consecutive season, North Florida is now 5-0 all-time against Fairfield.
Road Blues: Playing in true road games this season, the Ospreys are 0-3 with losses to Charleston Southern and nationally ranked FAU. Away from Harmon Stadium, North Florida is 3-6. In 2014 the Ospreys played 27 road games and finished with a record of 5-22.
A-Sun Player of the Week: Sophomore
Donnie Dewees served as the offensive spark plug for Ospreys last week, batting .522 (12-for-23) in five games. He scored 10 runs, drove in six and stole five bases. His two triples moved moved him up to second all time on the program's triples list with seven. He trails former teammate Tyler Marincov who finished with 13 from 2011-13.
Three-Baggers: To go along with Dewees, Senior
Ryan Roberson recorded his first career triple in 487 at bats. As a team the Ospreys lead the Atlantic Sun with seven triples and are ranked 13th nationally. Dewees, the A-Sun leader, has five of the team's seven triples.
Last time Out: An improbable, ninth inning comeback on Feb. 25 shocked Georgia Southern, 5-4 at Harmon Stadium. The Ospreys rallied from a 4-2 deficit in the bottom of the ninth to pull out the win.
Blake Voyles delivered the knock out blow with a two-out, double off the left field wall that scored two runs.
All-Time Series: The Ospreys have won five of the last seven meetings against the Eagles and are now 10-8 all time in a series that began in 2006. Georgia Southern has won two of the last three at their home field.
Scouting Georgia Southern: After the heartbreaking loss in the ninth inning to North Florida on Feb. 25th, the Eagles have rattled of wins in six of their last seven games. The stretch includes three-games sweeps over Georgia and Appalachian State. Four of the five losses this season have come in the midweek for the Eagles. On offense they are led by senior Chase Griffin who has a team-high 20 hits and is sporting a .313 batting average.
