UNF also handed the Eagles (21-7, 11-1) their only loss in conference play, 80-64, back on Jan. 14 in UNF Arena.Against NKU on Saturday, senior Jalen Nesbitt had a career game finishing with 26 points including going 3-3 from long range. Junior Beau Beech collected the first double-double of his career with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Demarcus Daniels added 15 points and swatted four shots to push his league leading total to 46 for the season. FGCU has been one of the hottest teams in the nation over the last month entering Wednesday's tilt with a 10-game overall win streak and an 8-game home win streak. The Eagles topped USC Upstate, 86-72, in their last outing on Saturday.In the first meeting of the season between UNF and FGCU, the Ospreys expanded on a two-point halftime lead with an explosive second half performance that saw the Ospreys outscore the Eagles, 41-27.
Dallas Moore was the catalyst for UNF finishing with a career-high matching 27 points and nine assists. Brett Comer scored 21 points to lead FGCU's production.
