@OspreyMBB Continues Home Stand Against Austin Peay

Game Notes (pdf)

JACKSONVILLE -- The North Florida basketball team will play its third game in the last five days Wednesday night as the Ospreys host Austin Peay in UNF Arena at 7:30 p.m. The game is sponsored by Burger FI and is the backend of a doubleheader with the UNF women's team, who hosts Warner at 5 p.m.

The Ospreys are 8-4 this season following an impressive 94-72 victory over FIU on Monday night. The win extended UNF's current win streak at home to 12 games, which is tied for 19th in the nation.

In the victory over FIU, North Florida again saw multiple players reach double figures as both Dallas Moore (21) and Demarcus Daniels (20) topped the 20-point mark. For Daniels, who also collected a season high five blocks, it marked his second consecutive 20-point performance. Beau Beech finished with 17 points highlighted by four three-pointers in the second half while Trent Mackey, the nation's top three-point shooter, added four treys to his season total en route to finishig with 13 points. Chris Davenport added 12 points and six rebounds in the victory.

Austin Peay enters the contest at 4-6 having played just once in the last 10 days, an 85-68 loss at IPFW. The Governors are in the midst of a five-game road swing that concludes Sunday at Lipscomb. APSU is led by Chris Horton, the nation's leader in offensive rebounds at 5.7 per game. Horton averages a double-double including 15.9 points and 13.2 rebounds per contest.

After Austin Peay, North Florida concludes its four-game home stand Saturday against in-state foe Florida A&M at 7 p.m.
