Game Notes (pdf)ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The North Florida basketball team continues its current four-game, 10-day road swing Tuesday when the Ospreys visit Chaifetz Arena to face the St. Louis Billikens. The game is set to tip at 7 p.m. (CT) and televised live on Fox Sports Midwest.UNF (3-1) looks to rebound from its first loss of the season after falling 89-61 at Louisville in the opening game of the road trip on Saturday. The Ospreys battled the Cardinals through a competitive opening half, trailing by just two points at the break, before seeing the much bigger UL squad pull away in the second half. In the contest, junior Dallas Moore posted his fourth consecutive 20-point effort finishing with 21 points while senior Beau Beech added 18.Moore currently leads the Ospreys and the Atlantic Sun in scoring at 23.5 points a game, which also ranks 20th nationally. Four other UNF players also average double figure points including
Trent Mackey (16.3), Beech (15.0),
Chris Davenport (12.3) and
Demarcus Daniels (11.8). Additionally, North Florida leads the nation in three-pointers made per game (14.8) and are second in three-point percentage at 48 percent.
Tuesday's game marks the first all-time meeting between UNF and St. Louis as well as the first game for the Ospreys against a team from the Atlantic 10 conference. Interestingly, UNF will play two other A-10 squads this season with games at Dayton (Dec. 5) and VCU (Dec. 30).Saint Louis enters the match-up with an undefeated 3-0 mark following a 76-60 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday night. The Billikens feature a balanced scoring load with four players averaging 13-14 points led by Ash Yacoubou at 14.3 points per game followed by Milik Yarbrough and Miles Reynolds, both at 14 per contest. SLU has posted three straight double-digit victories.
After Tuesday's tilt, North Florida wraps up play in the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational with a pair of games in Hartford, Conn, as the Ospreys meet Hartford on Friday (Nov. 27) and then St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday (Nov. 28).
