Dallas Moore Earns Weekly #ASunMBB Honor

MACON, Ga. - In the opening week of the 2015-16 Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball season, North Florida's Dallas Moore and Kennesaw State's Yonel Brown posted the top performances to share Player of the Week honors, while Lipscomb's Eli Pepper collected the Newcomer of the Week accolade, announced on Monday by the league office.

Moore and the Ospreys earned their second win against a Big Ten team in as many years with a 93-81 road victory against Illinois. The junior guard produced 26 points with a career-best 10 assists for his first-ever double-double. The St. Petersburg, Fla. native was 11-of-20 on field goals, 3-of-6 on threes and did not commit a turnover in 38 minutes of action.

"Dallas Moore has made a huge maturation jump in his entire game with his relentless work in the off season," said UNF head coach Matthew Driscoll. "With all the talented pieces around him he was able to both score and facilitate, but the stat that both and and the staff were most proud of was his zero turnovers in extended minutes of play."

Brown finished one point shy of tying the most points scored on opening night across the NCAA as he tallied 34 in a road loss to Alabama. The 5-9 senior guard pulled down a career-best 10 rebounds, while shooting 11-of-21 from the field and 4-of-9 on three-pointers. The A-Sun leader in free throw percentage last season hit all eight of his charity stripe attempts and added three steals against the Crimson Tide.

Lipscomb's Pepper began his collegiate career with three-straight 10+ rebound outings as he averaged 7.7 PPG with 11.3 RPG and 2.0 APG. He started the season with seven points and 11 boards in a double overtime victory at Santa Clara before adding seven points, 10 boards vs. Milwaukee and nine points & 13 rebounds vs. Denver. He is the first Bison since the 2012-13 season with double-digit rebounds in three-straight games.
