JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida Women's Soccer team travels to Jacksonville in their final regular-season contest this Friday at 7 p.m. in the annual River City Rumble at Southern Oak Stadium.
Â
"We have had a good week of training and are ready and excited to play," says coach Robin Confer. "JU has had a good run of results in the last couple of games. They have only given up four goals in conference play and we know they will be organized defensively."
Â
The Ospreys (4-10-1, 2-3-1 A-Sun) sit in a tie for fifth place in the A-Sun entering the final match of conference play. They look to clinch a spot in the conference tournament. The Dolphins (5-7-2, 3-2-1 A-Sun) are in a tie for third place and have clinched a spot in the tournament.
Â
North Florida is coming off of a tough weekend on the road. Last Friday, the Ospreys fell 2-1 to Kennesaw State on a late goal, before playing USC Upstate to a 0-0 draw last Sunday.
Â
The Ospreys offense is paced by freshman Krista Colubiale, who has scored two goals and tallied an assist so far in conference play. Senior Lanie Keating has netted a goal and three assists in conference play.
Â
In the midfield, senior Ashley Carmean has played every minute of A-Sun play, while on the defensive front, junior Jenna Steininger leads the team in minutes and has played every minute of conference matches.
Â
Friday's match will feature live stats and a full recap will be available following the action on UNFOspreys.com.
