
@OspreySwim Falls to Georgia Southern in Dual Meet Finale

STATESBORO, Ga. – In its final preparation for the CCSA Championships next month, the North Florida women's swim team fell in league action to Georgia Southern, 117-85. The Ospreys finish the dual meet season with a record of 2-6 while the Eagles improve to 6-2 on the season.

We had a couple of pretty good swims today put together by our team," said Head Coach Ian Coffey. "This was a good tune-up for us to get ready for next month's conference championship."

Sophomore Amy Taylor capped her dual meet season off in style with a pair of individual wins this afternoon. She touched first in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:36.81 and the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:10.04. She finished the 2014-15 season with the team's top times in four different events.

The Ospreys had nice showing in the 100 freestyle with Rebeca Bernard and Chase Walker finishing first and second respectively. The duo both turned in season best times. Bernard won the race with a time of 54.03 while walker hit the wall right behind her with a time of 54.59

Benard was the Ospreys top finisher in the 200 freestyle with another season-best time of 1:59.85.

The Ospreys just missed eclipsing their best time in the 400 freestyle relay. The quartet of Amy Taylor, Rebeca Benard, Taylor Schmidinger and Maria Bernard came in with a time of 3:40.72.

The Ospreys will begin preparations for the CCSA Championships that will take place at the University of Georgia on Feb. 18-24.
