MACON, Ga.—The University of North Florida women's tennis team remained undefeated in Atlantic Sun play as they swept Mercer 7-0 on Saturday morning at the John Drew Tennis Center.
 
"We played well today," said head coach Audra Cohen. "There is always added pressure when we are the front runners in the conference, but overall we handled the pressure in a professional, business-like fashion this weekend. We are very excited to ride out the rest of our conference season at home, and we are thankful to our administration for their work in getting the conference tournament in our own backyard."
 
The Ospreys started off strong as they won all three doubles matches. Taylor Hollander and Marina Cunningham added a ninth-match to their winning streak as they trounced Liza Klyachkin and Rozy Bartz 8-0 at No. 2 doubles. At the No. 1 spot, Simona Weymar and Rebeca Pereira defeated Danielle Jones and Lucie Payrat 8-5. Esther Zuniga and Mariella Calderon downed Natalie Franklin and Haley Powell 8-3 in the No. 3 spot.
 
North Florida won at all six singles positions in straight-sets. Weymar beat Jones 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while at the No. 2 spot Cunningham won 6-3, 6-2 over Payrat. Zuniga defeated Bartz 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 3 postition. At No. 4 singles, Hollander grabbed a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Franklin. Calderon secured a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) victory over Klyachkin at the No. 5 spot. Pereira conquered Powell 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
 
The Ospreys return home Friday, April 11 to face Northern Kentucky at 10 a.m., at the UNF Tennis Complex. The women's match along with a men's match versus NKU at 2 p.m., will be part of an alumni event celebrating 30 years of North Florida tennis on that day.
