Steady Play Keeps #WGolf Tied for 3rd at MSU Ocala Invite

DUNNELLON, Fla. -- The North Florida women's golf team remained in a tie for third Monday after a second round 304 in the MSU Ocala Spring Invitational at Juliette Falls Golf Resort.
UNF concluded 36 holes of play in a tie with Murray State at 603. The Ospreys and Racers are just seven shots behind current runner-up Houston Baptist.
Sophomore Emelie Alpe was the Osprey's top performer on Monday, carding a 2-over 74. UNF's day one leader, sophomore Belinda George, carded a 75 and remains among the Top 10 individuals at 147 (T-9th). With her solid play, Alpe climbed to a tie for 21st at 152.
Freshman Lauren Coe is tied for 28th at 153 after a 77 in round two, while fellow freshman Nathalie Nygren posted a 78 to end the round tied for 34th at 154. Sophomore Mary Rodgers rounds out the Osprey lineup in a tie for 43rd (156) after shooting a second round 81.
Daytona State continues to pace the team competition at 593 with Houston Baptist just three strokes back at 596. UNF and Murray State are third with Toleda fifth at 604 followed by Eastern Kentucky (605), Florida Gulf Coast (607), Stetson (612), Ohio (614), McNeese State (615), Akron (620), tournament host Morehead State (621), Northern Illinois (624), Western Kentucky (636), Austin Peay (639) and Nebraska-Omaha (678).
Final round action at the MSU Ocala Invitational is scheduled for Tuesday on the par 72, 6,113-yard layout at Juliette Falls.
