Final Results
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Finishing with 206 points, the University of North Florida swimming and diving squad closed competition Saturday in eighth-place at the 2014 Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships at the University of Tennessee's Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
The Ospreys started the day with a pair of top-15 finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke. Natalie McCallum placed 11th posting a time of 2:21.49, while Bridget Woods swam a 2:21.98 to place 12th. In the 200-yard butterfly, Lissa Janowicz placed 13th with a time of 2:06.39. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the Ospreys' A-team posted a 3:29.74 grabbing an eighth-place finish. Amy Taylor placed seventh in the 1650-yard freestyle swimming a 17:05.00, meanwhile Kara Plocharsky swam to a 23rd place finish with a time of 18:14.06.
The Ospreys had four divers place in the 3-meter diving competition. Monica Rice led the quartet claiming a sixth-place finish with a score of 270.95 points. Fernanda Robles followed with 268.20 points for the seventh-place finish. Amanda Habig tallied 254.25 points and Morgan Whittle earned 247.00 points placing 11th and 14th, respectively.
Liberty University (732.5 points), Florida Gulf Coast (718.5) and Georgia Southern (423) earned the top three team spots. Davidson College (406) was fourth followed by the University of the Incarnate Word (336), Gardner-Webb (284), Campbell (230), UNF, Radford (109), UNC Asheville (93), Howard University (86), Virginia Military Institute (63) and North Carolina A&T State(32).
