KNOXVILLE, Tenn.—The University of North Florida swimming and diving team sits in fifth-place, with 50 points, after opening competition at the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association on Wednesday evening at the University of Tennessee's Allan Jones Aquatic Center.

North Florida started the championships with a sixth-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The Ospreys quartet of Ana Cristina de Paula, Bridget Woods, Eva Porter and Mariana de Paula finished with a time of 1:48.34.

The Ospreys were seventh in the 800-yard freestyle relay, as Amy Taylor, Woods, Maria Bernard and Natalie McCallum teamed to post a time of 7:34.44.

In the overall results, Liberty University leads the field with 74 points followed by Georgia Southern in second-place (62). The University of the Incarnate Word (58) and Campbell (54) sit in third- and fourth-place, respectively.

The competition continues Thursday at 10 a.m. with the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle and the 1-meter diving preliminaries and finals.
