CANCUN, Mexico -- The North Florida basketball team meets Liberty in the first of two games for the team in Mayan Division play of the 2014 Cancun Challenge hosted by Triple Crown Sports at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya.

The Ospreys (1-3) come into the the contest against the Flames (2-2) following a pair of tough losses at Northwestern and Northern Iowa. Liberty also dropped back-to-back games at Virginia Tech and Miami (Ohio) before making the trip south of the border.

Against UNI in their last outing, North Florida fell behind early before battling toe-to-toe with the Panthers the rest of the game. Senior Jalen Nesbitt finished with a season best 15 points to lead the Ospreys while junior Demarcus Daniels chipped in 10 points and sophomore Chris Davenport pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Northern Iowa finished the game making 11 three-pointers.

THANKSGIVING IN MEXICO
This will be the second appearance for the Ospreys in the Cancun Challenge. UNF captured the Mayan Division title in 2010 posting wins over Prairie View A&M and Morgan State. North Florida also claimed a road win at Wyoming in one of the tournament formats stateside games.

GOING IN NEUTRAL
In his six years at UNF, head coach Matthew Driscoll has guided the Ospreys to an undefeated 7-0 record in non-conference, neutral site games. North Florida went 3-0 in 2009 en route to winning the USM Christmas Tournament, were 2-0 at 2010 Cancun Challenge and also were 2-0 in the 2012 Las Vegas Classic.
