Nygren's Career Best Finish Leads #WGolf to 4th at LPGA-XU Invitational

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- North Florida sophomore Nathalie Nygren collected her first career Top 10 finish in leading the Ospreys to a fourth-place showing Sunday in the LPGA Xavier Invitational at the LPGA International Hills Course.
Nygren, a native of Stockholm, Sweden, fired a team low 1-over par 73 in the final rounf on Sunday en route to finishing fifth with a personal best 54-hole total of 222. It bettered her career low tournament total by six shots and marked her best final tournament ranking.
As a team, the Ospreys carded a final round 304 for a three-round tally of 916. It was the squad's first Top 5 finish of the season and marked the sixth best tournament total score in program history.
Junior newcomer Mary Dawson posted her first career Top 20 finish for UNFÂ after ending the event tied for 19th at 230 including a final round 76. Fellow junior Kelly Aylwin, playing in the competition as an individual, also finished tied for 19th (230) after her final round 78.
Junior Emelie Alpe matched Dawson's final round score of 76 to finish tied for 23rd at 231 while junior Belinda George shot a 79 for a 235 (T-33) and freshman Meghan Bennett posted an 83 for 240 (T-42) to round out the UNF lineup.
Morehead State led wire-to-wire in claiming the team championship with a three-day total of 887. Dayton State finished second at 895 followed by Campbell (901), UNF and Boston College in the Top 5.
North Florida continues its busy five day span to close out their 2014 Fall campaign on Monday when the Ospreys will play 36 holes on the opening day of the JU Classic at Marsh Landing Country Club.
