JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—No. 75 University of North Florida men's tennis team travels to Atlanta, Ga., to take on Georgia Tech Saturday at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
Â
"We have another great opportunity to play a top tennis program at a beautiful facility," said head coach Mark Finnegan. "We are going to have the same goals and attitude we had against Florida. That's to be tough mentally, physically and emotionally at 100 percent. We are starting to establish an identity with the young team already so I am excited to see how we rebound from Wednesday."
Â
Saturday's match will be the Ospreys' second match in four days and also their fourth dual match of the season. On Wednesday, North Florida suffered a 5-2 loss at No. 14 Florida. The Ospreys got out to an early start, clinching the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, but only got a singles win from Caio Gomes at the No. 2 spot
Â
Georgia Tech enters Saturday's match with a 2-0 record in dual matches after defeating Georgia Southern and Stetson already this spring. In the dual season, Georgia Tech's is undefeated in five of the six singles positions and two of the three doubles spots. Last weekend, they hosted the MLK Invitational where Georgia Tech took on players from Georgia, Memphis and Ole Miss. The Yellow Jackets accumulated six victories at the MLK Invitational, including Carlos Benito's upset of No. 54 William Kallburg of Ole Miss, 6-3, 6-4 in singles.
