No. 71 #MTEN Takes on No. 14 Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — No. 71 University of North Florida men's tennis team travels to Gainesville, Fla., Wednesday to take on No. 14 University of Florida at Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex at 3 p.m.

"It's going to be a tough test but we are going to be 100 percent prepared," said head coach Mark Finnegan. "This will be the first time using the new format and we think the format is going to be a great advantage for us."

The new format will consist of three doubles matches being played first to six games with a tiebreaker a 5-all followed by, six singles matches with no-ad scoring and a tiebreaker at 5-all in each set.

This will be the first time the men's team has played Florida as a Division I team in a dual match. The Ospreys go into this match 1-1, after falling to No. 36 Florida State and defeating Florida A&M.

The Gators enter the match after competing in the Illini Open in Fort Myers, Fla., against USF, and Illinois. Florida boasts five players ranked by the ITA, Stephane Piro (No. 28), Elliott Orkin (No. 53), Maxx Lipman (No. 109), Gordon Watson (No. 111) and Michael Alford (No. 116).
