Ospreys Improve on Day Two of Kiawah Island Golf Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The North Florida women's golf team improved two shots and moved up a spot in the team standings Monday in second round action at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate.
The Ospreys climbed into a tie at 15th after shooting a round of 314 for a two-day total of 630. Freshman Emelie Alpe and Kelly Aylwin led the way for UNF on Monday carding matching rounds of 78.
Alpe, who is making her debut with the Ospreys after transferring from Arkansas Tech in December, is UNF's top performer ranking tied for 43rd with a 36-hole total of 155.
Aylwin and fellow freshman Mary Rodgers are tied for 56th at 157 with freshman Tess Huber (T-88/161) and junior Kelly Miller (T-101/163) rounding out the Osprey lineup.
Tournament host College of Charleston leads the 32-team field with a two round score of 596. The Cougars are four shots in front of Campbell (600). Richmond (605), Troy (610) and Dayton State (612) fill out the remainder of the Top Five teams.
The Kiawah Island Intercollegiate concludes play Tuesday with a final round of 18 holes scheduled for a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The Top 18 teams will compete on the Cougar Point course at Oak Point Golf Club while the teams in 19th-32nd place will play in a flight championship on the Oak Point course.
