KENNESAW, Ga. – The North Florida basketball tips off a three-game road trip Thursday as the Ospreys meet Kennesaw State in the KSU Convocation Center at 7 p.m.
The Ospreys (9-15, 4-7 ASun) look to build on a home victory over Stetson on Saturday night. The Owls (2-20, 1-9) have dropped their last seven games including a loss Friday at Mercer.
UNF and KSU will be meeting for the 32nd time with Kennesaw holding a slim 16-15 edge in the all-time series. North Florida has won the last seven meetings including an 81-72 victory in Jacksonville earlier this season.
In the first meeting, Parker Smith connected on eight three-pointers and finished the game with 32 points while Travis Wallace added 26 in the win for the Ospreys. Markeith Cummings scored 28 points to pace the Owls.
Wallace, a native of Marietta, Ga., has been a force against his nearby hometown team. In three career meetings with KSU, Wallace has averaged 27.5 points and 7.5 rebounds a game while shooting 77.8 percent from the floor. In his last visit to the Convocation Center, he finished with a career best 29 point outing.
The game also features the Atlantic Sun's top two scorers in UNF's Smith and KSU's Cummings, who both average 17.0 points a game.
Fans can follow all the exciting action live on the radio on 1010 XL AM/92.5 FM, The Flagship Stations of the UNF Sports Network, as well as online via the radio network link at www.1010xl.com. Real-time live stats for all Osprey home games are available on UNFOspreys.com and a web broadcast of the game is available at ASun.TV.
Following Thursday's tilt, North Florida continues its road swing Saturday at Mercer.
