JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The University of North Florida men's tennis team will face its eighth ranked opponent in nine matches on Sunday, as it travels south to Coral Gables, Fla. to face No. 54 Miami in an 11 a.m. dual match.
The Ospreys, who most recently played host to No. 20 Baylor on Thursday afternoon, enter the match ranked No. 62 in the nation in the ITA National Rankings.
Miami will come into Sunday's match riding a four-match winning streak that has carried them to a 6-2 record in 2013, including a 4-0 mark at home. The Hurricanes are also 4-2 against nationally-ranked competition.
When the two teams squared off last season, the Ospreys dropped a tough 5-2 decision in Coral Gables. Miami was ranked No. 36 in the nation at the time of that match.
However, UNF competitors fared well against the Hurricanes during the fall season, as the Ospreys racked up a 5-2 singles record, as well as a flawless 4-0 doubles record, against Miami competitors during fall tournaments.
While senior Moritz Buerchner remains at No. 96 in the ITA National Singles Rankings, the Ospreys will not face any nationally ranked singles players or doubles pairs on Sunday. Live stats for the match will be available at HurricaneSports.com.
