JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The University of North Florida women's tennis team will kick off a nine-match homestand this weekend, as they welcome Houston and Barry to the UNF Tennis Complex this weekend, for matches on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
The Ospreys will be returning to the court after a 12-day respite following their 9-0 victory at Nova Southeastern on February 3.
Houston, who will face UNF at 11 a.m. on Friday morning, enters the weekend fresh off a pair of road wins, racking up wins at UTSA (4-3) and Texas State (6-1) to improve its record to 6-2 on the season. The Cougars have performed consistently in singles play, as no player on the roster has a winning percentage below .500.
While Barry has played just one match thus far this season, a 9-0 win over Florida Tech, it will have two more under its belt when it arrives at UNF for Sunday's 10 a.m. match. The Buccaneers reached the D-II National Semifinals in 2012, after winning the National Championship the year before. They enter this spring ranked fifth nationally in the ITA Women's DII Preseason Rankings.
Admission to both matches this weekend will be free of charge, or follow along on Twitter at @OspreyWTEN.
