DAYTONA, Fla. -- The North Florida women's golf team is in sixth place after carding a second round 307 on Sunday at the LPGA Xavier Invitational.
The Ospreys own a 36-hole total 612 and are just two strokes out of the Top 5. Freshman Lauren Coe was UNF's top performer on day two moving into the individual Top 20 following her 75 (+3).
Sophomore Tess Huber, who leads the North Florida lineup in a tie for 11th at 150, posted a second round 77. Coe is just two strokes behind her teammate at 152.
A trio of sophomores rounds out the UNF travel squad including Emelie Alpe tied for 37th (157), Belinda George tied for 45th (158) and Kelly Aylwin tied for 47th (159).
Morehead State tops the team standings with a two-day total of 596 with Daytona State and Mercer tied for second at 601. Stetson and tournament host Xavier are tied for fourth at 610 followed by UNF, Illinois State (616), North Dakota State (621), McNeese State (624) and Samford (626) in the Top 10 of the 18 team field.
Mercer's Lacy Fears posted a two-under 70 to maintain her lead in the medalist competition.
Tournament action at the Xavier Invitational concludes with a final round of 18 holes Monday at the LPGA International starting at 8:15 a.m.
