HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The University of North Florida men's soccer team snapped a three-match losing streak with a 1-1 double overtime tie against Northern Kentucky on Friday night at the NKU Soccer Complex in Highland Heights, Ky.

The Ospreys posted 11 shots on the night, including seven shots on goal. The Norse tallied eight shots with five shots on goal. North Florida was led by Niklas Schuessler, who netted his first collegiate goal in the match. Casey Caronis, Jean Rivaroli and Jon-Michael Vieira each had two shots apiece with Rivaroli and Vieira's shots coming on goal.

Goalkeeper Kyle Nasta earned his first start of the season. The sophomore worked all 110:00 minutes of the match, earning his first collegiate tie. Nasta registered four saves on the night to preserve the 1-1 tie.

The Ospreys were the first to score as Schuessler netted the ball in the 25th minute. The freshman collected a ball from a bad clearance and was able to put North Florida in front with his first collegiate goal.

The two team entered intermission with UNF leading 1-0. Both teams registered four shots apiece in the first half with each team posting two shots on goal each.

The Norse responded with a goal in the 50th minute. NKU's Yaw Addai scored a goal with an assist from Mohammad Salhieh to tie the score at 1-1.

Regulation ended with the two teams tied 1-1. In overtime, North Florida posted three shots compared to one by Northern Kentucky. NKU was able to notch three saves in overtime to preserve the tie, while Nasta thwarted the only shot on goal he faced in the extra stanzas.

North Florida returns to action on Sunday afternoon as the Ospreys continue their road trip with a match against Lipscomb. The Ospreys and Bisons take the pitch at 3:00 p.m. (ET) on Sunday afternoon at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.Â
