JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of North Florida men's tennis won all three doubles matches and all six singles to sweep Troy 7-0 at the UNF Tennis Complex on Saturday.
For the third time this season, the Ospreys captured all of the doubles matches.
Daniel Sotomarino and
Norbert Nemcsek fought to a 9-7 win against Mansingh Athare and Sami Ghorbel at No. 1.
Beauregard Treyz and
Julien Belair pulled out a 9-8 (2) victory at No. 2 doubles over Tommy Cundy and Jamie Eccleton. At No. 3,
Moritz Buerchner and
Pedro Davisson defeated Anas Rouchdi and Patrick Eichler 8-6.
In singles, Buerchner rallied for a 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 three-set victory at No. 1 over Ghorbel. Sotomarino downed Rouchdi 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2, while Belair had a 6-0, 6-2 win over Athare at No. 3 singles. Davisson posted a 6-2, 6-2 No. 4 singles win against Eichler and
Leonardo Nahar had a 6-2, 6-0 win against Eccleton at No. 5. At No. 6, Treyz topped Tadju Davies 6-3, 6-1.
UNF returns to action on Monday when the Ospreys host South Alabama at 2 p.m., at the UNF Tennis Complex.
