JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of North Florida men's tennis plays back-to-back matches this weekend, traveling to UCF on Friday before returning to the UNF Tennis Complex on Saturday against Florida Atlantic.

“UCF and FAU are both winning programs that have been in and out of the national rankings over the past few years,” said UNF head coach Adam Schaechterle. “Both teams have already beaten teams within our conference and will give us a good idea of where we are at as we approach the conference season.”

UNF split its matches last weekend against two top Division II programs, defeating Barry last Friday but falling to Armstrong Atlantic on Sunday. The Ospreys carry a 3-2 record into the weekend. Friday's match will be UNF's first of five consecutive matches against in-state opponents. So far, UNF is 1-1 this season against teams from the state of Florida, having lost at Florida State and then beating Barry.

UCF enters Friday with a 2-3 record and comes off a pair of road losses at Louisiana-Lafayette and Tulane last weekend. The Knights spent the entire month of January and the first weekend of February in Orlando as the hosted the UCF Spring Invitational (Jan. 6-8), Wake Forest (Jan. 22), Jacksonville (Jan. 28) and Georgia Southern (Feb. 5). Aside from UNF, Jacksonville is the only other Atlantic Sun team to face the Knights. UCF posted a 6-1 win over Jacksonville on Jan. 28.

Florida Atlantic's match on Saturday will be the Owls' second of three straight against Atlantic Sun teams. The Owls had a 5-2 win against Florida Gulf Coast last Saturday and enter this weekend with a 5-1 record. This weekend will be Florida Atlantic's first trip outside of the South Florid area as all six of the Owls thus far have been in Boca Raton.

Friday's match in Orlando is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., while Saturday's is set for Noon.
