JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's basketball team will look to bounce back on Wednesday evening when the Ospreys host Lipscomb at UNF Arena.
The Ospreys saw their four-game home winning streak end on Monday night during a 54-37 loss to Belmont. Fabiola Josil paced UNF with nine points, nine rebounds and four assists. Larkira Jones grabbed a game-best 11 rebounds, including nine offensive boards. Jones has been a force to reckon with when it comes to rebounds at UNF Arena. She enters Wednesday's contest with 57 of her 93 rebounds taking place at UNF Arena and has grabbed 10-or-more boards in five of UNF's six home games. Additionally, the only opponent to reach double-digits in rebounding at UNF Arena this season was Belmont's Haley Nelson on Monday night.
Lipscomb is 1-2 in Atlantic Sun play after dropping its last two conference games. The Lady Bison come off an 81-75 overtime loss at Jacksonville on Monday night. Anna Bowers notched 20 points in the loss. Both Hannah Phillips and Bowers average double-digits in scoring to lead the team with 12.4 and 11.8 points per game, respectively. Phillips is also the team's top rebounder (76/5.4 rpg), assist maker (35) and stealer (24).
UNF leads the all-time series 10-1 and is a perfect 5-0 when the series is at UNF Arena. The Ospreys have won the last four meetings between the two teams.
The women's game is the first of a doubleheader with UNF's men's team. The women's game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m., tip-off, while the men's is at 7:45 p.m.
