Complete Game Notes
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The University of North Florida women's soccer team will return to Hodges Stadium this weekend for the first time in over a month. The Ospreys will welcome Mercer to Jacksonville on Friday evening before facing Kennesaw State on Sunday afternoon.
This past weekend was the first winless one this season for UNF. The Ospreys fell to Florida Gulf Coast 4-0 on Friday evening and dropped a 3-2 decision to Stetson on Sunday.
On Friday, sophomore goalkeeper Megan Dorsey recorded eight saves, but could not stem the flow of FGCU's offense en route to the loss. Sophomore midfielder Keara Murphy and sophomore forward Lauren Hopfensperger each scored against Stetson on Sunday, but an 84th minute goal from the Hatters sealed UNF's fate.
This coming weekend, Mercer, the defending Atlantic Sun Champion, will bring a 7-3 record into Hodges Stadium for the Ospreys' first home contest since a 5-0 victory over Coastal Carolina on Aug. 21. All seven of Mercer's victories have come by way of a shutout.
Kennesaw State will be playing just its second road game in a month then it visits Hodges Stadium on Sunday. The Owls are coming off of a 4-0 victory over Belmont on Sunday, wrapping up a 3-2-1 homestand over the past three weeks.
Kickoff on Friday will be at 7 p.m. and Sunday's game will be at 2 p.m.
