
Women’s Track Concludes Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Three student-athletes from the North Florida women's track and field team competed at the historic Penn Relays on Thursday, April 28, at Franklin Field. Sophomore Shelby Kittrell led the trio with her career-best time in the 10,000 meters.
Kittrell clocked a career-best time of 34:50.98 to finish third overall in the 10,000 meters. Kittrell bettered her previous best time over 30 seconds, set earlier this year at the UNF Spring Break Invitational.
Junior Ecaterina Gheorghiu posted a time of 10:32.95, placing ninth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. It is her second-best time in the event this year and just four seconds off her career-best.
In the 3,000 meters, junior Erin Nixon turned in a time of 9:51.44 to finish 17th in the event.
