NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University of North Florida women's tennis team downed Atlantic Sun Conference foe Lipscomb, 5-0 on Saturday afternoon in Nashville, Tenn.

UNF (10-3, 5-1 A-Sun) got off to a solid start, sweeping the doubles matches to claim an early 1-0 lead over the Bison (2-11, 1-5 A-Sun).

In the No. 1 doubles, Aline Berkenbrock and Simona Weymar paired up to take an 8-4 win over Kara Jackson and Alyssa Bellini. The Ospreys' Melanie Aguirre and Danielle Day teamed up in the No. 2 doubles, claiming an 8-3 decision over Danielle Hansen and Elizabeth Keevil. In the No. 3 doubles Victoria Krook and Melinda Doak secured an 8-3 win over Julieanne McMeen and Carlina Jow.

The Ospreys continued their run into singles play, claiming wins at the No. 2, 4, 5 and 6. Day swept Keevil in the No. 2 with scores of 6-0, 6-0 while Aguirre took the No. 4 match with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Hansen.

In the No. 5 singles, Weymar downed Jow with a 6-0, 6-0 decision and Doak secured a 6-0, 6-2 win over McMeen in the No. 6.

Berkenbrock's and Krook's matches went unfinished because of weather and the match had already been decided.

UNF will be back in action on Saturday, March 26 at Belmont beginning at noon.
