
Ospreys Sweep Eastern Kentucky, 7-0

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's tennis team swept Eastern Kentucky, 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon at the UNF Tennis Complex.
The Ospreys (9-1, 2-0 A-Sun) won all three doubles matches to secure the point. Sophomore Aline Berkenbrock and junior Raquel Castro teamed up in the No. 1 to defeat Esmira Gheisary and Jessica Albuquerque, 8-1.
Sophomore transfer Danielle Day and freshman Melanie Aguirre downed Anouk Faure and Anais Hamel, 8-5 in the No. 2. Juniors Lauren Holton and Victoria Krook dropped Catarina Branco and Alyze Pagal, 8-1.
Berkenbrock notched a win in the No. 1 singles by defeating Myriem Mhirit, 6-1, 6-1. Castro grabbed a win in the No. 2 with a 7-6(4), 6-3 win over Albuquerque.
Day defeated Faure, 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 3 while Krook dropped Pagal, 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 4. In the No. 5 Aguirre had a 6-1, 6-3 win over Hamel and Holton defeated Gheisary, 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 6 singles.
The Ospreys will be back at home for a pair of Atlantic Sun Conference matches beginning with Belmont on Friday, March 12 at 2 p.m. On Saturday, March 13 at 11 a.m. UNF will host Lipscomb.
