“I am pretty happy they way we played today,” said head coach Rodrigo Puebla. “We played under some tough conditions at the beginning of the match. The wind was really a strong factor to handle on both ends. South Caroline State is a very tough opponent and we knew we would have to play our best tennis today.”

In the No. 1 singles sophomore Aline Berkenbrock fell behind 1-6 in the first set. She came back to defeat Daria Sekerina 6-2, 6-0 in sets two and three, respectively.

“We are competing a lot better as a team and it's helping us to play at a higher level,” Puebla said. “We have a couple very tough matches on the road coming up, but if we keep working and playing as a team we could definitely come out with some upsets.”
