
Women’s Tennis Heads to Bethune-Cookman

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida women's tennis team will travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. on Friday, Feb. 26 for a 3 p.m. match against Bethune-Cookman.
UNF (5-1) fell just short of defeating College of Charleston the last time out, falling 4-3. The Ospreys picked up points in the No. 1 as sophomore Aline Berkenbrock defeated Holly Dowse 6-4, 5-7, 6-3. In the No. 5 junior Victoria Krook downed Irene Viana 6-4, 6-4 while junior Lauren Holton picked up the 1-6, 6-3, 10-8 win over Anna Lee Evans in the No. 6.
BCU (0-3) was picked to finish third in the MEAC going into the season. The Wildcats return All-MEAC selection Eva Hankova for the 2010 campaign. UNF picked up the 7-0 win last season over the Wildcats in Jacksonville.
Following Friday's match, UNF will be back in action as the team opens Atlantic Sun play on Thursday, March 4 in a 2:30 p.m. match at Florida Gulf Coast. The Ospreys will travel to Stetson on Saturday, March 6 for a 2 p.m. match.
