Freshman Aline Berkenbrock was a straight-set No. 1 singles winner by a score of 6-4, 6-3.
Who's Hot
In the No. 2 doubles position, the Lady Ospreys used a blend of veteran leadership and youthful energy to notch its most convincing doubles win against GSU. The pair of senior Ina Durcakova and freshman Nikita van Lierop rolled to an 8-3 win to help UNF sweep doubles play.
Did you hear?
Head coach Rodrigo Puebla on the home-opening weekend: “The girls are really pumped up to play on our courts and have a lot of confidence after the win against Georgia Southern. Our competition will challenge us this weekend but we have the ability to win both matches if we play the way we are capable of playing.”
Puebla's thoughts on the season-opening win: “It really helps calm all of the girls' anxiety to come away with a win in our first match. They were excited to take the court, and playing well gives us some momentum heading into our first home match.”
