North Florida Finally Returns Home After Nine-Game Road Swing

Ospreys Play Host to Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 7 p.m.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After playing the past nine games on the road and opening the season with 10 of its first 11 games away from home, the University of North Florida men's basketball team finally returns home to take on Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 7 p.m. at UNF Arena.

The game can be heard on AM 1320 WBOB and 103.7 FM in Jacksonville or on-line at 1320WBOB.com. The game can also be seen on www.ASun.TV.

The Ospreys return home on a three-game winning streak after capturing the South Mississippi Christmas Classic that was played Dec. 21-23 in Gulfport, Miss. In Gulfport, UNF downed Canisius, New Orleans and Southern Miss for the title.

North Florida is 4-7 overall and 0-2 in Atlantic Sun play. After Palm Beach Atlantic the Ospreys remain at home for a pair of conference games vs. Kennesaw State on Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. and Mercer on Jan. 4 at 7:45 p.m. at UNF Arena. Palm Beach Atlantic is 1-11 on the year.

The Southern Miss game was the last game of a five-games-in-eight-days road trip for UNF. The Ospreys have played a very tough schedule, including road games at Notre Dame (Big East), Illinois State (Missouri Valley), Alabama (SEC), Northwestern (Big Ten) and Marquette (Big East).

“There is nothing better than getting back to the sameness which happens after returning from 10 of our first 11 games on the road and 10 straight days away from Jacksonville,” said North Florida head coach Matthew Driscoll. “We really grew as a program and people during this stretch, realizing that the name on the front of our jersey is the only thing that matters. Palm Beach Atlantic will allow us another opportunity to compete and improve our team bringing to conclusion one phase of our season, the non-conference portion of our schedule.”

A season ticket for basketball is $120 and includes all men's and women's home games, a total of 28 games on 19 event dates, including nine Atlantic Sun Conference double headers. A special rate is available for UNF Alumni ($110) and UNF Faculty and Staff ($105). A Family 4-pack is also available for the season at $360. Select seating areas require an Osprey Club membership (per seat donation).

Single-game pricing is $10 for adults and $8 for youth 17-and-under and senior citizens 55-and-older. Children 2-and-under and any current UNF student with a valid Osprey1 Card are admitted free. Student guest passes are $5 and limited to one per student.
