DELAND, Fla. - The University of North Florida women's soccer team picked up a key road win against Atlantic Sun Conference foe Stetson on Friday night, taking a 1-0 victory over the Hatters (3-8-1, 1-4-0 A-Sun).
UNF sophomore Whitney Colburn scored the game's only goal at 24:03 of the first half when she was sent in by fellow sophomore Katelin Swift. UNF (4-8-1, 3-2-0 A-Sun) led the first half shots by a 5-1 margin and finished with a 6-3 advantage.
Elizabeth Gowan led UNF with two shots, while goalie Rachael Howard posted her first shutout of the season for the Lady Ospreys without the benefit of a save.
UNF returns to action on Sunday afternoon at Hodges Stadium to take on A-Sun newcomer Florida Gulf Coast at 12:30 p.m.
