BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The University of North Florida women's swimming and diving program got plenty of contributions from its freshman class on Saturday in a 133-72 victory over Campbell.
Five freshmen recorded top-three finishes for the Lady Ospreys, including Justine Kane who took home a first place finish in the 100-butterfly and a second- place finish in the 200-freestyle.
UNF won seven of the 11 events, sweeping the top three spots in the 200-freestyle and the 100- backstroke. Freshman Emily Shaw took first place in the 100-backstroke with a time of 1:03.51, barely edging out teammate Jenn Shields (1:03.54).
UNF's upperclassmen also got into the act when junior Savannah Codd won the 200-freestyle with a time of 2:00.13 and senior Chelsea Lewis won the 50- freestyle with a time of :26.10.
The Lady Ospreys will return to the pool Nov. 11 when they host College of Charleston, Florida A&M and New Orleans.
