JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- The University of North Florida men's tennis team (11-3, 2-1 PBC) won its fourth consecutive match Saturday, defeating No. 20 ranked Presbyterian 7-2 at UNF. The No. 6 Ospreys and Blue Hose wasted little time, as each match was decided in straight sets.
After dropping the first doubles match, North Florida went on to take the next two giving themselves some momentum heading into singles play.
"Presbyterian was very good, but I feel that we broke them down physically," UNF head coach Tom Schrader said. "It seemed like we just had more fire power after doubles."
The Ospreys received straight set singles victories from No. 33 Eduardo Pereira, No. 23 Jose Terrera, Leo Gomes, Elad Gabay and Damien DePolignac. The win was Gabay's 10th straight singles victory, after beginning the season 0-1.
UNF will face another ranked opponent on Sunday, as it will play No. 3 Barry at 10:30 a.m. in Daytona Beach, Fla.
