Lady Ospreys close out home schedule with clean sweep

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Jan. 16, 2005)- UNF wrapped up its 2004-05 home schedule on Saturday with victories over both Florida International University (160-78) and Georgia Southern (165-76). Senior Shawna Bothwell and Sophomore Amanda Rutherford each won two events, helping North Florida to the victories.
Junior Christie Britt continued her solid season with a second-place finish in both the 200-yard individual medley and the 200-yard butterfly. Additionally, senior Heather Rasor, sophomore Julieann Watson and freshman Savannah Codd each chipped in a second and third-place finish, while freshman Krysten Nemecek placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke. Freshman diver Amber Price won the 1-meter event, while taking second in the 3-meter.
Saturday also marked "Senior Day" at the Aquatic Center. UNF paid tribute to its five seniors who were swimming in their last home meet. North Florida said goodbye to Shawna Bothwell, Jennifer Downing, Jennifer McKay, Heather Rasor and Jessica Ware. Collectively, the seniors own parts of 14 UNF swimming records.
The Lady Ospreys will next be in action on Jan. 29 as they travel to take on Georgia Tech and Emory in Atlanta, Ga.
