UNF Concludes USA F28 Futures Tournament

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Freshman Daniel Sotomarino made it to the round of 32 before falling on Sunday at the 2009 USA F28 Futures Tournament in Niceville, Fla.

UNF competed in the open event. The tournament featured both collegiate and professional players.

Sotomarino had a bye in the first round. In the second round he defeated Brian Taylor of Braziel, 6-4, 6-3.

In the round of 32, Sotomarino faced Christoph Thiemann, who had a 1,611th ranking in the 2008 end of year world rankings by the ATP. Sotomarino fell in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, to Thiemann.

The Ospreys will begin the spring season on Jan. 30 at Georgia State in an 11:00 a.m. match.
