STATESBORO, Ga. – North Florida Volleyball defeated Kennesaw State, 3-2, in its second match of the Eagle Invitational at Hanner Fieldhouse on Saturday.

North Florida has now won both matches that advanced to five sets this season. North Florida has now won two or more matches in three different in-season tournaments this season, all of which have been on the road.

Third year outside hitter Dakota Spurrier posted a team-high and career-high 19 kills. She has recorded 15 or more kills in two of the last three matches and four matches this season.

Fourth year outside hitter Kaili Doctor added 15 kills. She has extended her streak of 10 or more kills in every match this season.

Second year outside hitter Leah McDonald rounded out a trio of Ospreys with double-digit kills with 13 kills. The total ties her career-high, which she previously set this season.

Second year setter Sofia Dawson tallied a game-high 53 assists. It marked her season-high, in addition to the second time this season and the fourth time in her career that she has surpassed 50 or more assists.

NORTH FLORIDA 3, KENNESAW STATE 2 (26-28, 25-22, 20-25, 25-19, 15-5)

SET ONE
Five different Ospreys recorded a kill to propel North Florida to a 10-8 lead. North Florida posted its largest lead in a back-and-forth set with an ace from Doctor to extend the lead to 11-8. North Florida led 15-13 at the media timeout. After Kennesaw State took a 19-17 lead, North Florida tied it back up at 19-19 on a kill from Dawson. A kill from McDonald tied it at 21-21. Kennesaw State took the set 28-26. McDonald led all Ospreys with four kills in the set. Dawson notched 10 assists and three kills on five attacks for a .600 hitting percentage in the set.

SET TWO
Spurrier posted three kills in the first seven points of the set. Trailing 12-8, North Florida went on a 5-0 run to secure a 13-12 lead. A kill from McDonald secured a 15-14 lead at the media timeout. A kill from second year middle blocker Haleina Bowers pushed the lead to 17-15. Three-straight kills from McDonald make it 23-21. A kill from Spurrier gave North Florida the 25-22 set win.

SET THREE
A kill from first year outside hitter Lily Rodgers and Bowers secured North Florida a 15-14 lead at the media timeout. A kill from fourth year middle blocker Yarimar Francis Garay made it 19-19. Kennesaw State took the set 25-20.

SET FOUR
A kill from Bowers made it 5-3 in favor of North Florida. North Florida raced out to a 12-6 lead after a solo block from Francis Garay. Spurrier extended the 19-11 lead on a kill. Doctor posted a kill to make it 20-12. North Florida took the set 25-20 to force a deciding fifth set.

SET FIVE
An ace from second year middle blocker Katelyn Bowman made it 5-2. A kill from Francis Garay extended the lead to 8-2. Fourth year libero/defensive specialist Emma Pohlmann delivered an ace to push the margin to 11-3. Spurrier recorded a career-high 19th kill for match point.
