
Ospreys Debut Spring Season at PDI Intercollegiate

ORLANDO, Fla. - North Florida women's golf played the opening round of its spring season at the PDI Intercollegiate hosted by UCF on Sunday afternoon.
UNF was led by unattached individual Ava Cottis, who combined for two birdies and an eagle to shoot even-par in the opening round. Kaitlyn Schroeder was the lead Osprey for the team score with a 1-over mark to join Cottis in the top 30 of the player's leaderboard.

ROUND REFLECTIONS
- Schroeder started her spring with a pair of birdies to sit at 1-over 73 in the top 30.
- Brianna Castaldi added three birdies of her own to come in right behind Schroeder at 2-over 74.
- Braydn Smith had a strong end to the first nine with two birdies over three holes to finish 3-over 75.
- Helen Zhou and Mohea Mansbendel wrapped up the team score for the Ospreys.
- Cottis had her best round as a collegiate golfer with an even-par score highlighted by two birdies and an eagle to be placed 23rd as an unattached individual.
- She is also one of nine players tied for first in average par-five score (3-under) and one of five players with an eagle in the opening round.
- UNF totaled 59 pars and eight birdies through the first round of play.
