Women's Tennis Earns Thrilling Season-Opening Win Over Florida Atlantic

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis opened its spring season with a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Florida Atlantic, 4-3, at UNF Tennis Complex on Friday.
After FAU took the doubles point, sophomore Aryana Bartlett earned her first singles win of the season on Court 2, 6-2, 6-3. Bartlett's win tied the match at one apiece after FAU took the doubles point. Freshman May Fadida gave the Ospreys a 2-1 advantage with a singles win on Court 4, 6-1, 7-5.
With the back-and-forth match tied at two, senior Laurie Barendse put North Florida ahead, 3-2, with a clutch three-set singles victory on Court 1, 6-2, 0-6, 6-3. Sophomore Gabby Goyins was sensational down the stretch, clinching the match-winning point for the Ospreys with a singles victory on Court 5, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.
