Men's Golf Continues Second Round at Visit Knoxville Collegiate

LOUDON, Tenn. - North Florida men's golf continued its season-opening tournament with the second round of the Visit Knoxville Collegiate hosted by Tennessee on Saturday afternoon.

The Ospreys were led by graduate transfer Laurens Schulze-Doering once again, as well as junior Chase Carroll, with five combined birdies to each card 3-over 73. Filippo Serra had the best score of the day from the UNF squad with an even-par 70 second round score as an unattached individual in the tournament.

ROUND REFLECTIONS

  • Schulze-Doering remains the top Osprey after a pair of rounds just outside the top 50 on the leaderboard.
  • Carroll ended his round with two birdies in the last four holes of the day to be 8-over 148 going into the final round.
  • Danny Erickson shot 2-under over his final nine holes to turn in 4-over 74 in round two.
  • Luke Balaskiewicz continued his collegiate debut, while Jean-Philippe Parr had a great showing on the back nine with seven pars and a birdie to round out the Osprey team score.
  • Serra recorded par over the first eight holes and shares the top spot in the tourney for par-five scoring average at 4-under (4.00).
  • Both Serra and Erickson made three birdies over the first five holes of the back nine.

North Florida finishes out the tournament weekend in the final round of the Visit Knoxville Collegiate on Sunday, Sept. 7, in Loudon, Tenn.
