JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida men's golf officially unveils its competition slate for the 2025-26 season, as announced by Director of Golf
Scott Schroeder on Tuesday afternoon.
The Ospreys will have their sights set back on returning to an NCAA Regional tournament for the 15th time over 16 seasons, as well as the NCAA Championship for the fifth time in eight seasons. They also look to reclaim the Atlantic Sun Championship tournament title for the first time since the 2022 season.
The tournament schedule for UNF consists of 11 total tournaments for a second consecutive season with seven events in the spring. It will be highlighted by the 34th edition of The Hayt Collegiate tournament, which will be scheduled from Mar. 7-9 at Sawgrass Country Club.
UNF will open the season for a third consecutive season at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate hosted by Tennessee from Sept. 5-7 at Tennessee National GC in Loudon, Tenn. They continue on later in the month in the program's debut appearance at the Bryan Bros Collegiate hosted by South Carolina from Sept. 29-30 at Solina GC in Columbia, S.C.
The fall season will wrap up in October starting with a return to the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational hosted by USF from Oct. 19-20 at Quail Valley GC in Vero Beach, Fla. The annual trip over to the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate hosted by Hawaii will be the final fall tournament from Oct. 27-29 at Ka'anapali GC in Lahaina, Hawaii.
The spring slate starts outside the continental United States as well with the Puerto Rico Classic from Feb. 9-11 hosted by Purdue once again at Grand Reserve GC in Rio Grande, P.R. The Gator Invitational hosted by Florida continues to be a staple on the Ospreys' tournament schedule with their 32nd appearance in program history, as they will compete from Feb. 14-15 at Mark Bostick GC in Gainesville, Fla.
Following North Florida hosting the prestigious The Hayt tournament for a 34th season, another staple on the schedule will take place at the General Hackler Championship hosted by Coastal Carolina from Mar. 15-17 at The Dunes GC in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Two new tournaments emerge to end the regular season with the Seahawk Intercollegiate (Coastal Carolina) from Mar. 30-31 and Giles-Spratley Collegiate (Richmond) from Apr. 6-7.
The ASUN Championship will start off postseason play for the Ospreys from Apr. 21-23 hosted at Kinderlou Forest GC in Valdosta, Ga. They will await to see if they receive an automatic bid or an at-large selection for the NCAA regional round from May 18-20, along with the NCAA Championship from May 29-June 3.
Key returners will consist of ASUN All-Freshman honoree
Danny Erickson, as well as
Filippo Serra,
Chase Carroll and
Adam Vermut.
Jean-Philippe Parr and
Laurens Schulze-Doring come in as upperclassman transfers from Tennessee and South Carolina respectively, while
Luke Balaskiewicz and
Diego Alvarez Perez round out the roster as incoming freshmen.
Tournament Tidbits
- UNF's schedule will have a total of 11 tournaments (four in fall, seven in spring).
- Will only play in four fall events for the first time since the 2021-22 season.
- Ospreys will debut in three new tournaments this season with the Bryan Bros Collegiate, the Seahawk Intercollegiate and the Giles-Spratley Collegiate.
- This will make three straight seasons for UNF off the United States' mainland twice to play in Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
- Fifth consecutive seasons playing an event outside the contiguous United States.
- Six of the 11 tournaments will be played over three days, including two of four fall tournaments.
- Scheduled to compete in seven different states (Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida, Hawaii, North Carolina, Virginia and Georgia), as well as Puerto Rico.
- UNF will play in the state of Florida in three tournaments, including The Hayt, for a third straight season.
- Have won team titles already for Quail Valley Collegiate, The Hayt, General Hackler Championship and ASUN Championship.
- Will host The Hayt for its 34th season from Mar. 7-9 at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
- Also making its 32nd appearance at Gator Invitational, 22nd appearance at ASUN Championship and 18th appearance in General Hackler Championship.
- Shortest rest will come with three days in between the Puerto Rico Classic and the Gator Invitational.
- It is followed by the longest break of the season with 22 days from the Visit Knoxville Collegiate to the Bryan Bros Collegiate (not including the break in between the fall and spring seasons).
- The first two events of the fall season will be homecoming tournaments for incoming transfers Jean-Philippe Parr and Laurens Schulze-Doring, who most recently played at Tennessee and South Carolina respectively.
- Ospreys look to win The Hayt for the second time in five years and the sixth time overall.
- UNF aiming for second conference championship in five seasons, its 15th NCAA Regional appearance over 16 seasons and its third NCAA Championship appearance in five seasons, as well as the fifth time in eight seasons.
